I'm a Scottish-Kiwi artist, illustrator and graphic designer currently based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa (Auckland, New Zealand).
My experience as an illustrator and graphic designer spans across print and digital media in advertising, marketing, brand & packaging design, communication design, and custom commissions. I'm currently working in-house specialising in print design within consumer marketing, but I'm open for short-term freelance and commission work.
Like most designers, I'm drawn to contrast and scale, a strong hierarchy and a punchy typeface. I love clean, bold and well-researched design, tapping into consumer psyche to communicate and engage audiences. My vision is for my work creates a sense of grounding and empowerment for brands, to allow them to resonates with their people.
I love a brand refresh, or better still, a full from-scratch build and nerding out over establishing solid brand guidelines.
My illustration and drawing work stems from my diploma in fashion and textile design, which started my obsession with anatomical and human studies. I'm also fascinated with ordinary, mundane and humorous objects, and creating turning that into statement art.
Art and design are intrinsic to everything we interact with and has such a powerful place within our community and society, which is why I have a real passion for inclusivity and accessibility within my work.
